KING CHARLES’ EXERCISE REGIME AHEAD OF HIS CORONATION

According to The Mirror, King Charles III is keeping to a military fitness routine to help him stay fit ahead of his coronation on 6 May at Westminster Abbey.

Known as one of the hardest-working royals, King Charles has reportedly done more than 500 engagements in 2022.

Ever wondered how the 74-year-old monarch stays in shape for all his commitments?

The publication reports that the King follows the 5BX routine (Five Basic Exercises) the Royal Canadian Air Force created.

The 11-minute workout is reportedly designed to keep pilots fit. The routine does not require equipment, and Charles, who previously served in the Royal Air Force and Royal Navy, is said to complete the workout twice a day.

During an interview with the BBC, Queen Consort Camilla spoke out about her husband’s fitness level, The Sun reports.

“He is probably the fittest man of his age, I know. He’ll walk and walk and walk. He’s like a mountain goat, he leaves everybody miles behind,” she said.

In an interview with The Mirror, fitness expert Penny Weston explained the benefits of 5BX.

“It’s a tough workout, but definitely worth it! It is ideal for anyone looking to get fit that doesn’t have much time on their hands. It is very similar to most of the HIIT classes we see now, so not much has changed,” she said.
